Every member of staff has received training on preventing the spread of Covid-19 and has the requisite protective equipment. All hotel employees have their temperature taken every day, and we are implementing contact tracing
We have established a Covid-19 committee that follows official guidance on the spread of the disease and will implement measures accordingly
The hotel has been thoroughly disinfected by a certified cleaning company
We are following official guidelines regarding social distancing in common areas such as the lobby, restaurants, terrace, lift, etc.
Busy areas will be cleaned frequently, and we have put in signs to avoid overcrowding
Hand sanitiser is available throughout the hotel for guests to use
Third parties are not allowed into the hotel without a prior appointment
The air flow will be constantly refreshed and running at 23º -26ºC
ROOMS
The Hotel Royal Plaza takes cleanliness and hygiene very seriously, and has been ISO9001 and ISO14001-certified for years. We have implemented a series of new measures designed to reassure our guests that we continue to invest in this area
All rooms will be deep-cleaned after guests leave and in order to give the housekeepers enough time to do so thoroughly, check-in time will now be 4pm. Departure time remains noon.
Linens are washed in disinfectant at 60º, and kept separate from other rooms
Our housekeeping team wear the appropriate PPE, which is also changed after cleaning each room
All cleaning is carried out according to the latest government guidelines, including high-touch items such as the hairdryer and remote control
RECEPTION
There is a one-way system in place to manage the flow of guests entering and leaving the hotel, and guests will be asked to follow the latest social distancing guidelines
Reception has been divided into different areas for checking in and checking out, and a separate area for enquiries, to avoid overcrowding
Hand sanitiser is available, and all items in reception are cleaned regularly throughout the day

FOOD AND BEVERAGE
We have introduced a designated area to receive all goods and all suppliers are expected to follow our strict hygiene protocols to ensure food safety
The restaurant is frequently disinfected by our staff
All linens are washed and disinfected at a temperature of +80°C
In the restaurant, a waiter will escort you to your table, which won’t be laid until you sit down, so you can be assured everything is clean
The waiters wear gloves and masks which are disinfected after serving each table
All food and beverages are served by our waiters on an individual basis
Breakfast will be a la carte, rather than buffet
TERRACE / SWIMMING POOL / GYM
In order to ensure social distancing a booking system has been introduced for the gym so that only one client can use it at a time. After each session, our staff will clean and disinfect the equipment ready for the next guest. Please contact reception for further details
The sun beds will be placed 1.5m apart on the sunroof to ensure social distancing. Each sun bed will be cleaned and disinfected after use
We kindly ask clients to use the pool responsibly. In the event that it is not possible to maintain the required social distance, we ask that you wait until you are able to do so before swimming
All our high touch point areas including handrails, door handles and staircases are disinfected frequently
